Professionally guided workout is provided within sports activities that target the acquisition of skills that will result in more autonomy and consequently deinstitutionalization.

The programme provides the recommended professionally guided exercise on a daily basis in accordance with the recommendations contained in the EU Physical Activity Guidelines (adopted in November 2008 in Biarritz) and in line with the strategy of the Government of the RS in the field of physical activity for health promotion (2007-2012). The goal of these guidelines is a challenge to engage a child or an adolescent in appropriate physical activities at least one hour per day.

The programme monitors the activities of a child or adolescent in a comprehensive manner in the mornings as well as in the afternoons, and is adjusted to the individual’s characteristics (individually defined goals and progress measurement). The programme of activities includes sports that are more individual in nature, as well as sports that require group participation.

Sport activities are also urban sports that offer children or adolescents an alternative to an unhealthy and inactive lifestyle.

The participation of children and adolescents is based on their voluntary engagement in all sports activities and getting to learn the benefits of sports for health, wellbeing and active lifestyle. Our mission is to inspire the children and adolescents and set an example to them and offer all the support they need in everyday sports activities, in particular when they engage in various sports events and competitions.

The programme also seeks to increase the inclusion of children and adolescents in the local and wider environment. It provides for easier socialization, validation and gaining self-confidence through sports content.

We encourage the inclusion of children and adolescents in sports clubs and societies in the local environment of the institution and advise them on where and how they can do sports in their domestic environment. We also equip them with the skills and competence of how to remain active in sports within the current or future family.

Various sports activities within the programme take place outside the institution (participation in national and local competitions and events, viewing different competitions, sports gatherings and competitions between institutions, cooperation with outsourcers, mountaineering, etc.). These activities aim at testing children in life situations outside the institution and their as active and autonomous participation as possible.
